JJJJound’s collaborative relationship with New Balance has grown into one of the most respected partnerships in the sneaker world, rooted in minimalist design and quality execution. This season, the two are cooking up a simple black take on the 475, coming soon.
In 2024, New Balance brought back the classic 475 silhouette, originally an 1980s running model, as part of a broader revival of heritage styles. The reissue launched in October 2024 in three retro colorways, followed quickly by collaborations from Aimé Leon Dore, END. Clothing, and Auralee, helping to bring fresh ideas and new eyes to the silhouette. Since then, the 475 has been relatively quiet, with only a handful of releases in 2025. However, it appears New Balance is not done with the shoe just yet, as their Montreal creative partner JJJJound has just teased an upcoming release of the runner. The JJJJ touch is clear in this release, painting the majority of the shoe in black, while balancing out the color blocking with white for the laces, midsoles, and branding-free tongues.
JJJJOUND X NEW BALANCE 475 RELEASE INFORMATION
The next project from Montreal’s JJJJound and New Balance has not been announced yet, but the 475 silhouette was spotted in the brand’s Spring 2026 teaser. The retro trainer is back for another collaboration, this time in JJJJ’s signature neutral look, dressed mostly in black with lighter accents. Pairs will likely be available from both partners, with pricing expected to be higher than the usual
