Ja Morant’s third signature shoe with Nike is here, but the Grizzlies’ star is still cooking with his Air Force 1 releases. This week, the iconic low-top sneaker surfaced in a new “Pearl” color scheme, coming soon.
The Nike Air Force 1 is still synonymous with basketball culture, over forty years after its initial introduction in the early 1980s. The silhouette is has transcended to bridge the gap between sport and street styles, and is one of the pillars of modern-day sneaker culture as we know it. Recently, Nike athlete Ja Morant has been working with the AF1 to deliver off-court sneakers to supplement his signature models, currently on their third iteration. Morant’s takes have varied wildly in colors and materials, including a Swarovski covered pair coming soon. This week, another edition of the line has emerged, bringing another gemstone to mind. The “Pearl” edition comes in a metallic silver shade with a slightly chromatic finish to it, giving it the colorful sheen of, well, a pearl. Morant’s 12:AM branding is added in light Cobalt blue, with Nike tags to match.
