This week, PUMA Hoops revived another vintage basketball silhouette just in time for All-Star Weekend. Titled the Sky, the Hoops team has tapped Chicago’s own Fashion Geek for a colorful set of the Sky Modern, as well as a few apparel pieces.

The ongoing collaboration between German sportswear giant PUMA and Chicago streetwear staple Fashion Geek first kicked off last year, with several expansive capsule collections featuring the brand’s colorful aesthetic. Now, the two are back in 2020 and starting off the year with an exciting new project. Alonzo Jackson’s Fashion Geek team was the first give the new Hoops Sky Modern their own twist, and man, did they deliver. Arriving in two colorways, the Fashion Geek Sky Modern features tonal color schemes in High Risk Red and Safety Yellow, each with Geek’s signature primary color accents on the outsoles. The PUMA Cat logo on the heel is also repeated three times in the primary colors, lending a 3D effect to the logo.

“After building Fashion Geek for over 15 years, it’s become just as synonymous with Chicago as basketball. It’s only right that we collaborated with PUMA for this 2020 All-Star collection. I’m humbled and grateful to have a partner that recognizes my work and wants to showcase it to the world. This collection is bold, solid and fly just like me and my city,” says Alonzo Jackson, founder and designer of Fashion Geek.
