Drawing from the rich history of golf and civil rights, Eastside Golf, a Black-owned brand, has joined forces with Air Jordan to create a unique sneaker that pays homage to a significant year in the sport’s history.

The Eastside Golf x Air Jordan 1 Golf “1961” is a tribute to the year the PGA of America lifted its ban on non-White players, marking a significant step forward in the sport’s journey towards inclusivity. The sneaker is a testament to the progress made in civil rights and golf since 1961. The left shoe features a bold “CHANGE” text on the heel counter, while the right pair contains “1961.”

The shoe is predominantly black, with premium leather covering the overlays, mid-panel, and ankle collar. The toe box and the signature Nike Swoosh is dressed in Malachite, with the latter finished with a black “Eastside Golf” script. The shoe is complete with the Eastside Golf logo on the tongue, metallic gold Air Jordan Wings on the ankle flap, and a green-ready outsole with an integrated traction pattern, specially designed for the golf course. The shoe will also come with special hangtags and packaging, adding to its exclusivity.
