Puma’s Clyde Court is making a special appearance this weekend, popping up at ComplexCon in Chicago as a part of the new collaborative project between Def Jam Recordings and Puma. Check out the subtle new look, hitting global retailers in August.

At first glance, a collaboration between Def Jam Recordings and Puma seems like an unlikely partnership. However, you’d be mistaken. Def Jam, founded 35 years ago this year, has had close ties to the German footwear brand almost since its inception, thanks to some of Def Jam’s most famous musicians’ love for the big cat. Now, as the two brands team up to celebrate the label’s monumental anniversary through the Puma Clyde Court.

First released at the beginning of the 2018-2019 NBA season, the Puma Clyde Court was built to help the brand jump back onto the basketball court in a big way, and it worked. Now, Def Jam has made it their own through an entirely maroon color scheme with the Def Jam logo added to the tongue and heel counter, as well as the year the label was founded, 1984, running down the pull tab.

The new project between Def Jam ing and Puma is scheduled to release this weekend, on July 20th, 2019, at Puma’s ComplexCon booth, followed by a wider global release on August 28th, 2019. While no retail price has been announced yet, this special edition pair is likely to cost somewhere in the $140 range.
