British streetwear brand Corteiz has been lighting up release calendars with their Nike collaborations over the last two years. This season, they are back with a new project, the “Flat Pewter” pair of the Air Trainer Huarache, coming soon.
Founded in 2017 by Clint Ogbenna, Corteiz has steadily climbed the hype meter to achieve near ubiquity in the world of streetwear and sneakers. Utilizing guerrilla marketing for a number of their launches, often requiring customers to exchange something of their own, they have carved out a very unique space in the world of apparel. Many now know them thanks to a Nike collaboration in 2023 which released three colorways of the Air Max 95, even after Nike sued Clint for the brand’s similarity in name to the Cortez sneaker.
This week, Clint 419 showed off their next project with the Swoosh, coming this holiday season. The sneaker of choice this time around is the Air Trainer Huarache, the high-top hybrid of two classic Swoosh models. The shoe is cast almost entirely in a Flat Pewter grey tone, though a camouflage underlay and gum sole help break up the monotone look. Additionally, this release will be accompanied by a small apparel collection, including all grey tracksuits and bright red jerseys.
