Devin Booker’s love of classic cars strikes again with a new sneaker release this month. Reuniting with Chevy for the occasion, the Nike Book 2 “Pretty Penny” is inspired by his beloved Impala, coming soon.
In addition to his love of basketball, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker is also an avid car collector, with a sprawling assortment that features both new and old models. While you might expect a highly-paid NBA star to go all-in on modern supercars, Booker is more particular with his choices, and most of his collection is made up of vintage Chevrolet models. Aside from his Ferrari 488 and Buick Grand Nationals, some of his most precious cars include a ’59 Chevy Impala, ’95 Impala SS, and a ’68 K5 Blazer, each meticulously restored and upgraded. These classics led to a collaboration with Chevy a few years ago, featuring his Nike Book 1 signature and a low-top Blazer. This week, Chevy, Nike, and Booker have announced their next project, the “Pretty Penny” Book 2. This pair takes inspiration from Devin’s ’59 Impala convertible, borrowing the sandy color scheme for the the molded Book 2’s upper, adding a metallic finish. Black Swooshes adorn either side, while the outer heels feature a vintage Chevy Impala logo to complete the look.
CHEVY X NIKE BOOK 2 “PRETTY PENNY” RELEASE INFORMATION
The next release of Devin Booker’s Nike Book 2 signature shoe revisits his love of classic cars, teaming up with Chevy to release the new look first on August 14th, through a SNKRS pass release in Detroit, followed by a wider drop on August 26th. The SNKRS Pass will go live tomorrow, with pickup via Burn Rubber on the 15th. This Book 2 comes in a metallic Sanddrift colorway, inspired by Devin’s personal Chevy Impala. Pairs will be available for $155.
