Hong Kong fencer Cheung Ka-Long took home another Olympic gold medal this year, and following suit after his 2020 win, Nike is releasing a special pair of shoes for the occasion. Ka-Long’s Zoom Vomero 5 arrives this weekend.
Athlete signature sneakers are nothing new in the world of footwear, with Nike and adidas frequently releasing special-edition pairs of their models designed in partnership with athletes. Back in 2020, Nike delivered a special pair of the Air Max 97 for Cheung Ka-Long, the gold medalist fencer from Hong Kong. Now, after his second consecutive Olympic gold, Ka-Long has another release on the way.
The next limited-edition sneaker from Cheung Ka-Long from Nike comes in the form of the Zoom Vomero 5. The retro runner-turned-lifestyle model gets a unique new look for the occasion, featuring a mix of dark grey and black mesh, metallic silver overlays, and a pale yellow cage system for the midfoot and heel sections. Blue accents add a bit more color to the design, while metallic Swooshes complete the look.
