Comme des Garçon’s long-standing partnership with Nike has brought us some of the most interesting, and outlandish takes on famous Swoosh silhouettes ever. This week, that trend continues as the brand debuted a new Dunk Low at their latest women’s show.

Debuted during Comme des Garçon’s SS20 women’s show, the Nike Dunk Low from Rei Kawakube & co is similar in its design ethos to their 2017 Dunk High “Clear”. The latter featured a totally translucent plastic sidewall on both medial and lateral sides of the shoe, showing off the wearer’s feet in spectacular fashion. Now, the new CDG Dunk Low continues that theme, this time shrouding your feet in a little more privacy. Using the clear ripstop nylon that Nike has favored heavily in 2019, Comme des Garçon rebuilds the Dunk entirely, showing off the shoe’s supporting underlays in black. So far, two pairs have hit the runway, one featuring an all-over CDG print just beneath the translucent surface, and the other favoring a more straightforward black and clear color scheme.

Comme des Garçon’s latest collaboration with Nike, this time featuring the Dunk Low, has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to arrive on shelves in Spring or Summer 2020. The price for these exclusive new pairs will likely be more than usual given CDG’s involvement, and release at a select number of retailers in women’s’ sizes.
