Reebok’s second edition of the popular Zig Kinetica lifestyle shoe made its debut earlier this month, marking another large step for the brand in a new direction. Now, Kyle Ng’s Brain Dead will be the first to launch their own take on the Zig Kinetica II, coming soon.

Reebok’s lifestyle offerings have increased dramatically over the past several years, as has their stable of collaborative partners, expanding to include fashion and streetwear brands from around the world. Amongst them, Los Angeles’ Brain Dead has been creating some of the most unique pairs, mixing high contrast colors and materials for out-of-this-world looks. This week, we got our first look at the next installment in the ongoing collaboration between Reebok and Brain Dead, the latter of which will be the first partner worldwide to take a crack at the new Zig Kinetica II. Designed by Marc Brosseau, a footwear designer for the the brand’s streetwear collaborations, the Zig Kinetica shoes are inspired by the natural motion of the foot, utilizing a sectioned midsole built with dispersing and rebounding energy in mind. The second edition in the series ups the ante on the design, featuring a wild wave-like pattern across the silhouette’s quarter panels, while a unique system of overlays make them hard to miss. Brain Dead’s two colorways of the Zig Kinetica II are as bright as ever, with one mixing shades of off-white and grey with far brighter red and yellow tones, while the second pair is slightly darker, featuring a palette of mainly brown with some green hues mixed throughout.
