Reebok and Brain Dead are back, a little sooner than we might have expected. After their debut collaboration earlier this Summer, featuring the Classic Leather, the two are ready to release their eclectic colorways of the Beatnik and Pump Court this month.

Brain Dead seems to be on top of the world right now. The Los Angeles-based creative collective and design studio has been releasing exciting new products on a regular basis over the past several years, consisting of both high-quality in-house apparel and accessories as well as collaborations, most recently with Prince for a tennis collection and The North Face for a wide selection of outdoor gear. This week, Brain Dead has unveiled it’s latest project, teaming up again with Reebok for a new two-pack of footwear, following up on their Classic Leather release from earlier this year. Titled “Pathways”, the Reebok Pump Court, and Beatnik star in the time-bending new collaboration.

The best part about Brain Dead projects are the stories they tell to go alongside the release. For their latest with Reebok, the Beatnik and Pump Court have been transformed into ancient artifacts, used to unlock a door that may or may not be the secret to interdimensional travel. Brain Dead unveiled the artifacts through a Johnny Lock-directed short video they shared, following the story of researcher Solomon Wright on his quest to unlock the ancient door. According to him, the shoes are constructed from thousands of tiny fragments scattered across the globe, personally reassembled by Wright himself. When assembled, the Brain Dead Pump Court features a mesh and cow hair upper, with blue, yellow, and brown accents, while the Beatnik sports a sleek navy blue suede forefoot with cow hair adjustable straps.

BRAIN DEAD X REEBOK “PATHWAYS” PACK RELEASE INFORMATION

The next project from Los Angeles-based Brain Dead and Reebok, combining the Pump Court and Beatnik silhouettes for the “Pathways” pack, has been announced for release later this week, on September 18th, 2020. The two-pack of sneakers that are said to enable interdimensional travel come with surprisingly cheap price tags for that feature, weighing in at $120 for the Beatnik and $160 for the Pump Court. Both shoes will launch from both Reebok and Brain Dead, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more information on a global release.
