Nike has made a focused effort to team up with smaller artists in recent years, as opposed to big name brand collaborations. Their latest team-up, with NYC artist Aya Brown, brings us an “Atomic Green” Air Max 95, landing this week.
The Air Max 95 has been Nike’s staple lifestyle retro of the past two years. The model significantly ramped up in releases starting in late 2024, leading into the shoe’s thirtieth anniversary celebration in ’25. The Air Max Day festivities of that year delivered an iconic OG colorway, the “Neon”, with a newly remastered Big Bubble version, rebuilding the shoe’s tooling to reflect the original ’90s releases, just like the Air Max 1’s similar treatment a few years prior. Since then, the 95 has landed in a handful of new colors every month, including standard in-line releases, special projects within Nike, and plenty of new takes from outside collaborators. Their focus on collaborators has spanned big names like Kith and Palace, as well as smaller artists, giving them a chance to share their ideas with the world. This week, NYC artist Aya Brown is taking up the mantle as their latest featured collaborator.
Aya Brown is a fine artist based in Brooklynn, whose work focuses on culture and community through colorful, intricately detailed paintings. Her work has graced the walls of galleries across her home city, as well as being featured in a wide range of publications, both art-focused and fashion/style magazines. This week, Aya teased the sneaker world with a friends & family colorway of the AM95, limited to just 200 pairs. Now, Nike & Brown have unveiled the public release, an eye-catching “Atomic Green” style of the retro runner. The pair combines electric green suede with Anthracite black leather, adding mesh layers and a toggle lacing system to the silhouette. Reflective accents are plentiful, with University Red hits to complete the look.

The debut collaboration from artist Aya Brown and Nike will make its debut this weekend, on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, through a special activation in New York City (details above). The striking green and brown pair is expected to get a wider release via SNKRS and select retailers the following week, on August 21st. Following up on the friends & family edition that surfaced over the weekend, this pair adds an eye-catching lime green suede to the Air Max 95’s upper layers. Pricing for this collaboration is expected to be about $200.
