Nike has a knack for sourcing exciting new collaborators for special projects. This week, Steven Julien, founder of the UK’s Apron Records, showed off their take on the Air 180, coming soon.
Apron Records has become a powerhouse label in the United Kingdom since its founding back in 2014. Started by Steven Julien, the label has styled themselves as a focal point for Black artistry, representing a variety of different acts that create jazz, electronic, hip hop, and fusion music. Along the way, Apron also started its own clothing and merch lines, which have netted them some impressive collaborations like the 2022 Patta project.
This week, Apron unveiled their next big step in their merchandising arm, which will see them team up with Nike to release a special-edition pair of the Air 180 retro. Their take on the iconic model comes in a Dark Atomic Teal tone, which is spread across leather and shaggy suede paneling int he upper. Swooshes and heel counters come in a snakeskin texture, with chrome heel clips and Apron branding to complete the look.
