PUMA’s Running System series has expanded voluminously in the past few months, though the original RS-X is still going strong. This week, the sleek sneaker takes on a new 90s-inspired look courtesy of Alexander John.

The PUMA RS-X has been a staple of the German sportswear giant’s repotoire in 2019, releasing in new seasonal versions and special collaborations on a regular basis. The past few months have also been privy to the debut of several new iterations of the RS-X for different occasions, like the RS-X3, somewhat of a sequel to the popular model, as well as the Winterized and Mid variations, which offer enhanced protetion from the elements. However this week, PUMA is sticking with to their guns with the standard RS-X, turning to fashion designer Alexander John for his take on the sneaker. The result is a 90s-inspired, mixtape-refereence heavy look, paying homage to the bright and colorful mixtape covers from the era. The shoe also features a number of graphic references, including massive Side A & Side B printing on each toebox, skip buttons, and other callouts.
