This year marks the 23rd Anniversary of the 1996 NBA Draft, and Jordan is set to celebrate the class with the Jordan 7 “Ray Allen” this coming summer.

The 1996 Draft Class, highlighted with players like Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, and Ray Allen, it was full of many different players that became superstars in the NBA. One of those players stands out a little bit more to Jordan brand than the rest, and that’s Ray Allen.

When Ray Allen was a rookie, he was hand selected by MJ himself to wear Jordan sneakers on the court. Allen was gifted the Jordan 7 Player Exclusive “Home” and “Away” to go along perfectly with the Milwaukee Bucks home and away jerseys. This time around, the two pairs are combined into one, making up the “Ray Allen” edition to celebrate his Hall of Fame induction and the 23rd Anniversary of his Draft Class.

First, the silhouette takes on a black nubuck upper. The black is highlighted with purple accents and a purple embroidered Jumpman logo to represent the “Bucks Away” pair. The outsole pays homage to the “Bucks Home” edition as it contains purple, green, and grey. As the tops and bottoms of the shoe represent the two different sneakers, the tongue combines them both as it contains colors from both the away version as well as the home. Overall, a very sentimental shoe to both basketball fans and sneakerheads.
