Jordan Brand has released hundreds of colorways for their iconic basketball shoes in the past forty years, some more obscure than others. This Summer, we are getting a first-ever retro of the Air Jordan 6 “Oreo”, a drop sixteen years in the making.
OG colorways of iconic Jordan sneakers are typically the styles held in the most high esteem. For fans who grew up wearing and collecting Michael Jordan’s signature models, the nostalgia and history behind each pair is particularly meaningful. Many people strictly stick to colors that were released or worn by Mike during his time in the NBA, and anything after that is null and void. However, once Nike got into the habit of releasing Jordan retros, reissuing icons like the Bred 1s and Cement 4s, they also began to introduce some new styles which have their own cult followings. Some of these fan-favorites have only released once, like the 2010 “Oreo” Air Jordan 6. This simple black and white look brought a mixed material upper to the 6; black suede and white leather, with a speckled midsole and icy outsole. There have been riffs on the look over the years, like 2024’s “Reverse Oreo“, but this Summer the classic 2010 look is finally getting a proper retro release.
