The Air Jordan 5 has kept a low profile in recent years, only emerging for a very special release every so often. So far, Jordan Brand has continued this trend in 2019, which will next see the Jordan 5 Retro launch in “Amarillo” this Fall.

The Air Jordan 5 holds a special place in the pantheon of original Jordan models. While not quite as popular as the silhouettes on either side of it, the Jordan 5 is still thought of fondly by just about every collector and avid sneakerhead. As the Air Jordan 5 does not release as regularly as some of the brand’s other legendary silhouettes, when it does, it always arrives in style. This week, we have an early look at an upcoming color scheme set to release later this year. While many have taken to referring to this version as the “Michigan” CW, it is important to note that currently there are no indicators on the shoe that point to a PE release. However, this Jordan 5’s color code include Amarillo and Collegiate Navy, both of the main tones for the University of Michigan. That’s not to say it doesn’t look like a Michigan PE though. The entirety of the premium leather upper is dyed in the school’s golden-yellow hue, while navy blue subtly takes over the tongue, quarter panels, and midsole.

The quality of this retro release demands a $225 price point, the standard for these releases, and will likely release from Nike and select retailers.
