Before the 1993-94 NBA season, Michael Jordan quit basketball. After taking a year-long leave of absence to pursue personal interests, Jordan returned in 95, stunning the world. Now, Jordan Brand will celebrate that moment with the “I’m Back” Air Jordan 10 Retro.

Michael Jordan, despite having one of the greatest NBA careers of all time, might have had one of the most tumultuous. One of the most surprising moments came in October 1993, when Mike announced his retirement from basketball. The legendary Chicago Bull stated that he no longer felt compelled to play after the death of his father months earlier. So, Jordan moved on to a new sport, baseball, signing a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox. The stint on the diamond did not last very long, as Jordan ended up announcing his return to basketball in March of 95 with just two words: “I’m Back.” Now, Jordan Brand has chosen that year’s model to pay tribute to the iconic moment in sports’ history. The new Air Jordan 10 Retro “I’m Back” features a premium white leather upper paired with a black tongue to represent Mike’s minor league team, the Birmingham Barons. The inside of the shoe will allude to his true roots as a Bull, taking on the famous black and red color scheme, with I’m Back branding on the heel tab.

The Air Jordan 10 Retro “I’m Back” commemorates Michael’s return to the Chicago Bulls after his first retirement, and is set to release on March 18th, 2018. For $190, the premium materials and minimalist look make these a must cop for Jordan fans everywhere.
