Sony’s Spider-Verse movies have brought us two excellent mutiversal variants of the Air Jordan 1 Chicago. This week, we learned the AJ1 Utility from the latest film actually exists, and was given to friends & family of the production.

Last month, Jordan Brand released their ‘Next Chapter’ Air Jordan 1, as seen in the recent ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ movie. The shoe was a follow-up to the ‘Origin Story’ AJ1 high released in 2018, which was worn by the film’s protagonist Miles Morales. Both releases have been highly sought after, featuring multiversal variants of the classic ‘Chicago’ color scheme, with a unique comics-inspired twist. During the ending of the second movie, which released earlier this month, sneaker heads may have spotted a third pair of the Air Jordan 1 High, this time on the feet of Miles’ Earth-42 counterpart and his Prowler alter ego. Featuring attached stash pockets, the Utility version was seen in a very brief shot – but have since been confirmed as real by Jordan. The sleek black and purple color scheme was given to friends & family of the production, and limited to just 100 pairs total.

With the third installment, Beyond the Spider-Verse, set to release early next year, we are likely to see another tie-in sneaker release from Jordan brand. While the possibility of them releasing this limited-edition pair is likely, we are hoping to see Earth-1610 Miles sporting yet another iteration of the ‘Chicago’ AJ1 to complete the collection.
