The Air Jordan 1 High will be dropping in a special “Rebellionaire” offering that honors the original “Banned” commercial that aired in 1985.
Back in the day, Air Jordan models were not perceived as well as they are now. This “Rebellionaire” makeover is a nod to MJ’s dedication to the footwear and standing up to the NBA as they issued a $5,000 fine each game he wore the “Banned” AJ1. While the offering doesn’t feature an exact “Banned” replicated colorway, the sneaker opts for a Shadow inspired design of Black, White, and Particle Grey with the added feature of an all-over text of “They can’t stop you from wearing them,” which references the vintage commercial. Also making an appearance on the shoe is the red X on the heels for nostalgic purposes.
