The Air Jordan 1 High is gearing up to release in a new Gore-Tex-clad iteration this Winter, making the beloved silhouette winter-ready for the first time. This week, we have an early look at the Jordan 1 Element in the “Light Bone” colorway, coming soon.

The Air Jordan 1 has launched in just about every configuration that sneakerheads can imagine, from the original high and low versions to more recent iterations like the FLyEase or the zippable Switch model that launched last year. However, there is one key material, a favorite amongst sneakerheads in damp climates, that has not yet graced the uppers of the AJ1, until now. Earlier this year, the sneaker rumor mill began churning out prophecies of a Gore-Tex-laden Air Jordan 1, finally giving us our beloved holy grail in a construction ready for anything the elements can throw at it. While we still don’t have an official word from Nike on the release, this week we got an early look at a “Light Bone” colorway of the Gore-Tex Jordan 1 Element, giving us a better look at some of the materials used on these pairs. The shoe begins with a ripstop nylon base layer, while the signature leather overlays are applied to the heels, collars, and toe box, presumably all backed by a Gore-Tex inner lining.
