Jordan Brand and Carmelo Anthony recently decided to end the Melo signature line. However, images of the Air Jordan 1 “Equality” scheduled to release next week has appeared- and it features Melo’s logo on the tongue.

The Air Jordan 1 “Equality” has been a mysterious shoe until now. A release date of January 15th has been listed on the release calendars of multiple retailers, but no images of the shoe. Many collectors simply assumed that this would be the re-issue of the ComplexCon Gold “Top 3’s” they had all been waiting for, with some impatient consumers paying hundreds of dollars for what they thought were early pairs. Then, Joe Haden, the Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback, revealed the shoe. Haden posted a video of the Air Jordan 1 “Equality” on Instagram, showing off the two-tone upper with gold accents. The shoe’s color blocking is split almost perfectly in half, with the ankle support, collar, tongue, eyestays, and toe cap all a deep black. The lower half, including the paneling, swoosh, heel padding, and mudguard come in a pristine white. The black laces are accented by gold “Equality” lace badges, and Jumpman branding on the insole. The heel of the midsole is printed with “EQUALITY” in large black lettering. While it may not be exactly what some were expecting for this release, it is certainly something new for the Jordan 1. Check out the images below for a closer look, and let us know what you think in the comments.
