Yohji Yamamoto’s adidas collaboration has released in regular collections for years. Recently, the Japanese designer started incorporating most famous tech into his shoes, which gives us the new adidas Y-3 FutureCraft 4D.

This silhouette builds upon the 4D sole to create a beautiful mix of sport and high-fashion aesthetics that the Y-3 brand is known for. The upper is constructed from all-black Primeknit, accompanied by black overlays made from tougher materials to provide greater support. These lateral and medial cages are used to keep your foot from sliding around too much in the shoe, as a single-piece Primeknit upper allows lots of room for that. The shoes also feature leather overlays on the interior toes to provide a more padded feel, and the traditional and simple Y-3 branding can be found on the tongue. The highlight of this model is the Carbon 4D sole, created using a mixture of light and water and a process called Digital Light Synthesis. The result is a lightweight, intricate lattice of beams built to support the foot of the wearer perfectly. This new shoe shows the Carbon sole in a two-tone black and ash green, a detail that has not been added to other 4D models yet. Although there is no release date for the Y-3 Futurecraft 4D, expect the silhouette to arrive in stores & online sometime around Fall/Winter 2018. Until then, stay locked to JustFreshKicks for more Futurecraft 4D news.
