This year, adidas is updating their famous Feet You Wear midsole technology, adding Boost to the famous basketball/running series. First up is the adidas CRAZY BYW.

Originally launched in 1996, adidas Feet you Wear, or FYW for short, was made famous once former adidas athlete Kobe Bryant started using the technology in his shoes. The idea behind FYW was simply to create separate sections of the midsole for flexibility, and have these pod-shaped sections wrap around the foot for maneuverability and to keep the foot close to the ground. The technology gained wider popularity for both athletic and non-athletic purposes, which allowed for the transformation into today’s Boost You Wear (BYW), which will be sold both on and off the basketball court this year. The adidas Crazy series was originally Kobe’s signature line before he left the brand and the most popular models were renamed. Built with similar lines as the original, the new adidas Crazy BYW is the first lifestyle shoe to feature the new Boost You Wear, which will add the Three Stripes’ famous midsole beads into the FYW pods, allowing for a more cushioned feel. The black high top upper on this shoe is constructed from varying knit and mesh sections, highlighted by a single wavy white embroidered line running around the middle of the upper. A purple pull tab and matching lace loops finish off the upper, while the sole is stark white to show off adidas’ new toy.
