New Balance is on fire this year. With so many exciting collaborations and interesting new silhouettes, we’ve barely been able to keep track of it all. However, one release we couldn’t miss was yesterday’s debut of the new X-Racer Utility, available now.
The X_Racer, first introduced last year, is one of New Balance’s premier new entries in their burgeoning sportstyle category. Inspired by the legendary marathon and long-distance running shoes from previous decades, the X_Racer takes on a sleek stance with a high heel to provide comfort over long periods of time, as well as keeping the shoe stable. While the X-Racer flew relatively under the radar since its introduction last year, a recent collaboration with Bodega thrust the shoe into the spotlight, igniting renewed interest amongst NB fans. Now, Bodega’s version of the X-Racer is back, sort of. Titled the X-Racer Utility, the latest release features the same outdoor-minded construction as the Boston retailer’s iteration, featuring a ripstop base for the upper and reinforcements made from ballistic nylon.
