adidas Consortium’s constantly rotating cast of collaborators is back this month, this time around with Australia’s Highs & Lows taking the helm to pay homage to tennis legend Stefan Edberg and the adidas Torsion Comp.
Highs & Lows (HAL for short) and adidas have been working together for many years now. Over that time we’ve seen everything from lifestyle shoes and running apparel come from their partnership, and the latest release fits right in. For their next release alongside adidas’ Consortium team, the Perth-based retailer has cooked up a special iteration of the Torsion Edberg Comp as an ode to its creator and signature athlete, Stefan Edberg. The color scheme is built to reflect the look of classic tennis sneakers, starting with a mostly white leather upper accented by numerous tones, each with their own meaning. The highlighter green color found around the shoe is meant to represent the tennis ball itself while varying shades of brown mimic the various materials used for courts throughout the years. The midsole features a faded vintage look to add some depth to the color scheme, while grey piping and outsoles complete the look.

Highs & Lows recently announced that their new adidas Torsion Edberg Comp, courtesy of the Consortium department, will release this Saturday, September 21st, 2019. So far, a retail price for the new “Less is More”-themed sneaker has not yet been announced, though we expect them to land somewhere around $160.
