The textile is not made by a specific brand, but the Harris name refers to the island Lewis with Harris, one of a series of islands that make up the Outer Hebrides, roughly 25 miles from the Scottish mainland. The cloth’s integrity is maintained by the Harris Tweed Authority, whose guidelines ensure that any fabric officially designated as Harris Tweed is handwoven by the island’s natives. This week, we have an early look at a new Harris Tweed-clad sneaker, the Vans Old Skool. Borrowing the famous Harris Tweed for this release, the silhouette comes in a mix of blue tones for the eponymous textile, paired with dark navy blue leather accents, and an assortment of spikes, gems, and pins attached.
