Lapstone & Hammer is continuing their ongoing relationship with Asics this week, delivering their take on the GEL-Kayano 12.1 runner in a fresh style. “The Spark” colorway lands this Saturday.
Philadelphia boutique Lapstone & Hammer is back with another special release this week. Founded by Brian Nadav in 2015, the store delivers an elevated experience for sneaker shopping to it’s hometown, using a thoughtfully designed retail build out and curated selection from a variety of brands to make them a sneakerhead destination. Over the years, they’ve teamed up with brands like Saucony and Asics for a number of special projects, frequently making custom pairs of popular models as opposed to a standard collaboration. This week, they are issuing their latest work with Asics; “The Spark” GEL-Kayano 12.1. The Spark is “moment of ignition, the contagious driving force that sets everything in motion.” The look brings a cream white mesh to the runner’s underlay, adding its synthetic overlays in a mix of cream, black, and metallic silver. The shoe’s visible GEL cushioning and lace tips are added in red to complete the look.

The latest collaboration from Philly’s Lapstone & Hammer and Asics has been scheduled to release this week, on May 2nd, 2026. Their take on the GEL-Kayano 12.1 runner is dubbed “The Spark”, inspired by the idea of a seed of action and ignition. The look will be available through Lapstone’s in-store and online channels starting at 10am EST on the 2nd, with pricing set at $195.
