During this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend, Converse and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander debuted a Premium edition of the Shai 001 signature model. Now, the upscale version of the court-ready model is back in “Ink” blue leather.
The introduction of the Converse Shai 001 was a monumental moment for the brand when it launched last year. The new model is the first player signature from Converse in the modern age, showing a recommitment to performance offerings and a return to their original stage; the NBA court. SGA and his team delivered a unique new design that bridges the gap between performance and lifestyle, and this year introduced a new Premium format for the shoe that strengthens its place as an everyday model. Debuted during the All-Star break in February, this season the Shai 001 Premium returns in a new build. Ditching the suede construction of the previous release, the new tonal “Ink” blue pair comes with a full leather upper.
