The New Balance 2000S Debuts in a Makeover from Quadro Creations

The New Balance 2000 has been a staple of the brand’s catalog since its introduction last year. This week, the model’s first updated look has appeared, the 2000S, shown during a runway show from Quadro Creations.

New Balance’s Abzorb 2000 model was a bit divisive when it first arrived early in 2024. Some sneakerheads were thrown off by the shoe’s bulbous midsole unit paired with a sleek, taped upper, while other immediately latched on to the new model. After a year on shelves, it is safe to say the 2000 is here to stay, as more excellent colors and collaborations have arrived in the last twelve months. This week, we have a first look at a new update or variant of the 2000, subtitled S, and shown off by Brazilian label Quadro Creations during their FW26 runway show this week. The new version remodels the entire upper, now featuring a mesh underlay visible at the collar and lacing system, with w second layer wrapped around the rest of the silhouette. Quadro’s version has a textured outer layer that looks similar to plaster, and comes in either soft yellow or silver colorways. The 2000S midsole remains unchanged from the original.

QUADRO CREATIONS X NEW BALANCE 2000S RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance has yet to announce any official plans for a release of the updated 2000S model, though the Quadro Creations pairs were shown as a part of their Fall/Winter 2026 show. The new look modifies the entire upper into a sleeker, more streamlined design, which fits well with the bulbous midsole. Hopefully NB will release in-line versions of the new take on the runner sometime later this year.
