Nike Cortez in “Summit White” Shaggy Suede Available Now

Nike’s Cortez has made a surprise return in the last year, reviving a handful of the shoe’s classic color schemes along with a healthy dose of new styles. This week, the vintage runner has gotten a refresh in a shaggy suede construction, and cast in a neutral palette of Summit White, black, and brown.

The Nike Cortez is one of the brand’s original running sneakers. Released in 1972, the model was one of the first to reflect the innovation drive from Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, and introduced some now-standard performance elements into the world of footwear, like the layer of sponge rubber directly below the upper. Now a piece of history, the Cortez has been reinvented for lifestyle purposes.

This week, Nike has delivered a fresh pair of their iconic Cortez. Following the cues of some previous releases of this year, the latest pair features a shaggy all-suede upper construction for a unique textured look. This pair comes in a Summit White shade, white adds black leather Swooshes and hints of brown to complete the look.
