We are still waiting on the global rollout of Nike SB’s new reworked Air Force 1, and already their team rider samples are starting to surface. Yuto Horigome will get his chance to work on the model, delivering a crisp white pair with subtle accents as his signature look.
Yuto Horigome made history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by becoming the first ever gold medalist in men’s street skateboarding, and Nike SB has since built a signature relationship with him that reflects both his skill and his Japanese heritage. So far, he’s released two SB Dunks; his debut in August 2023, inspired by Tokyo’s ÅŒjima Komatsugawa Park where he grew up skating, and his follow-up “Matcha” colorway in April 2025, a nod to Japanese tea culture featuring earthy greens, bamboo fiber details, and his personal crossed-feathers family crest on the heel.
This week, a new signature model from Yuto and SB has surfaced, ditching the iconic SB Dunk in favor of the sub-label’s reworked take on the Air Force 1. The AF1 has been a staple of the skate community for decades, and the SB team has finally adopted it as their own, tweaking the design to be a better match while riding. Yuto Horigome’s take on the shoe continues his string of clean, exceptional colorways, starting with a white base for the mixed mesh & leather upper. This pair borrows similar tones to that of his Dunk colorways, like the Iron Grey inner lining, and the faint green shade used for the Swooshes and outsoles here. His crossed feathers crest appears on the outer heels, while a number 7 and red Swoosh on the heel tab complete the look.
