As Stranger Things continues its successful third season run, Nike partners up with the series for yet another model. Part of their “Upside Down” collection, the latest iteration of the Nike Tailwind contrasts its predecessor.
While a Stranger Things x Nike collection recently dropped, the latest Tailwind will be part of another capsule. Although the first release featured bright colors reminiscent of gym clothes, the latest collaboration is anything but bright. First seen through Bait during Comic-Con weekend, fans finally get official images and dates. Both Stranger Things and Nike continue to grow in popularity and decided to drop another collection shutting down rumors that the two would not collaborate after the first collection.
Although at first look the Nike Tailwind 79 looks simplistic in nature, the design is quite deceiving. While the upper presents an off white woven-like pattern, this only acts as a first layer to the model. One of the most exciting features that sets this collection apart from its predecessor, is the layer hidden underneath. Upon burning the top layer, a completely new upper is shows paralleling the “Upside Down” motif seen throughout the show. Another notable characteristic is the Stranger Things logo unearthed upon burning the back tabs. Also, the insoles feature sketched blueprints of the Russian machine used in Season 3. The tongue labels offer dual branding all brought together by the encoded message underneath the soles. As part of the pack, each box comes with Stranger Things pins to decorate your kicks or any other piece of clothing.

As the Nike Tailwind will be part of the “Upside Down” collection, fans can expect an August 13, 2019 release date. Set to drop through Nike.com and select retailers, a price has yet to be announced.
