The Spongebob Squarepants IP is teaming up with adidas for a special collection of Three Stripes footwear for some of the show’s iconic characters. This week, we have an early look at the Stan Smith Fezizit, coming soon.
Spongebob Squarepants has been embedded in pop culture since its debut back in 1999. Originally aired as a teaser after the Kids’ Choice Awards on Nickelodeon, the show skyrocketed to popularity thanks to its quirky characters and oddball comedy. Spongebob and the accompanying cast each have their place in the annals of great animated works, and the show has remained relevant through internet and meme culture over twenty-six years after its debut. This year, Spongebob & friends are getting a special adidas collaboration, with shoes themed after several popular characters.
Our first look at the upcoming Spongebob x adidas release came last month, through a Patrick Star-themed pair of the Superstar. While that shoe simply recolored the iconic sneaker in Patrick’s colors, the latest show from the collection is something else entirely. The Stan Smith Fezizit is the Spongebob-themed release from the collection, and aims to recreate the footwear worn by Bikini Bottom’s best fry cook. The Stan Smith is the base for the design, but replaces the usual midsole with a chunkier, heavier piece that appears to be borrowed from dress sneakers. The shoes are constructed from glossy black leather, adding branded tongue labels and white laces for the final touch.

The upcoming collaboration pairing Spongebob Squarepants characters with adidas sneakers has not been officially announced yet, but is getting ready for a late 2025 release. Recreating the iconic fry cook’s squeaky shoes with the Stan Smith Fezizit, pairs of this hybrid dress sneaker will likely be available from both adidas and select retailers. Pricing for this release is currently unknown.
