Sacai’s Nike VaporWaffle model was introduced in 2020, releasing in a handful of colorways until disappearing in early 2022. Now, two new colorways are on the horizon for 2024, including this “Midnight Navy” style.
Chitose Abe’s Sacai label has been mashing up Nike silhouette since their first collaboration debuted in 2019 with the Blazer High and the LD Waffle. In 2020, they introduced the VaporWaffle, an updated version of the runner-style silhouette with an even chunkier midsole and more double-layered elements. The sneaker released in a few colorways over the following two years, before halting drops in early 2022. Now, following the release of the Jean Paul Gaultier Woven pairs last month, a new “Midnight Navy” pair has emerged, releasing in 2024. The new look features a nylon base in navy with black suede overlays for the upper. Printed elements are added in white around the eyelets and Swooshes, with a two-tone blue midsole and gum outsole underneath.

Sacai and Nike’s return of the VaporWaffle silhouette has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to drop sometime in 2024. Seen here in a “Midnight Navy” color scheme with white, light blue, and black accents, pairs will be available from the SNKRS app and select retailers for $250.
