PUMA has made some big steps into the world of basketball over the last few years. Their latest work, a signature shoe for Tyrese Haliburton called the Hali 1, just launched. Now, more colors are starting to arise, including a simple grey build, coming soon.
PUMA officially reentered the basketball game around 2018 after nearly two decades away, shaking things up by putting culture and performance at the core. The brand signed major NBA prospects, brought in Jay-Z as Creative Director, and launched silhouettes like the Clyde Court Disrupt and MB.01 with LaMelo Ball. Last year, the brand announced a partnership with Salehe Bembury, bringing the ppular freelance footwear designer in to both consult and design for their on-court offerings. His first contribution to the PUMA Basketball family, the Hali 1, made its debut this season.
Just over a year ago, reports of Tyrese Haliburton signing with PUMA confirmed an extensive contract with the young star, including signature sneakers. In February of this year, at All-Star Weekend, they teased the guard’s first model, the Hali 1, before finally releasing the shoe this Fall. Designed in part by Bembury, the shoe features a unique squiggly midsole design akin to Salehe’s signature fingerprint designs. This week, he shared an early look at an upcoming release for the Hali 1, which pits the shoe in a simple grey color scheme. Both dark and light shades of grey make up the various layers of the upper, with a white midsole underneath.

PUMA has scheduled their next release of Tyrese Haliburton’s Hali 1 to release on January 30th, 2026. The model, designed in part by Salehe Bembury, takes on a mix of flat grey tones for this release, save for the white squiggly midsole. Pairs will be available through PUMA and basketball sneaker retailers for $130.
