The Pokemon Company has gone deep on sneaker releases this decade, with special shoes commemorating some iconic characters. This month, Mewtwo is getting his own pair of the PUMA Suede, releasing exclusively in Vegas.
Pokémon sneaker collaborations have brought together nostalgia, pop culture, and sneaker design since the early 2000s. Brands like adidas, Converse, and Puma have each released collections inspired by beloved characters such as Pikachu, Charmander, and Squirtle. Designs often feature vibrant colors, themed graphics, and playful packaging that celebrate the franchise’s global appeal. These projects blend gaming and fashion, appealing to both collectors and fans. More recent releases continue to highlight Pokémon’s lasting influence across generations and its crossover into lifestyle culture.
This week, PUMA has announced their latest project with the famed Japanese pocket monster brand. Their first release was back in 2022, when the two teamed up to release a series of shoes themed after the OG Kanto region starter Pokemon, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Gengar for some reason. Now, the two have jumped all the way to the end of the Kanto PokeDex, for a special edition “Mewtwo” Suede style. Releasing exclusively in Las Vegas later this month, the Suede features a light purple construction, using dark purple leather for the Formstrip, mimicking Mewtwo’s coloring. The look features embossed cracks filled with reflective material for some extra flash, with a Mewtwo hangtag to complete the look.

The latest Pokemon-themed sneaker collaboration comes from PUMA, and releases later this month on October 25th. Featuring the classic suede in two-toned purple shades representing the genetically engineered ‘mon Mewtwo, pairs will be available exclusively at the PUMA flagship store in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will come with a whopping retail price of $300.
