Paul Smith’s Subtle Take on the Converse Chuck Taylor Adds New React Insoles

The Chuck Taylor is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and Converse Japan has been hard at work delivering exciting new projects in its honor. This week, they’ll be releasing a colorful Japan-exclusive version with menswear designer Paul Smith.

Converse has been on a roll this year with the Chuck Taylor, executing new and exciting projects every few weeks in celebration of the legendary silhouettes hundred year anniversary. Brands and individuals like Chinatown Market and Joshua Vides have lent their names to different releases, as well as the introduction of a new line of sustainably built Chucks. The latest new project was announced earlier this week, showing off Chuck Taylor high-top designed in collaboration with British menswear designer Paul Smith. Releasing exclusively for Converse Japan, the shoe features an all-white canvas upper accented by silver eyelets and a black foxing stripe. The heel features Paul Smith’s signature rainbow Sports’ Stripe stitched vertically, which is also represented on the inner Converse All-Star logo as well as the dual-branded React midsoles.
