adidas Originals’ fresh take on the A-ZX series is off to a great start, with over a dozen releases already available. This week, the project continues with a trip to London for pam pam’s “Wildcard”-inspired take on the ZX 1000.
The adidas A-ZX revival project kicked off earlier this year, bringing to life 26 sneakers from special collaborators and adidas own archives over the course of a full year. So far, the project is about halfway done, with the announcement of this month’s project with women’s sneaker retailer pam pam marking the definitive halfway as the 13th release in the series. Taking on the classic ZX 1000, pam pam focused on creating a shoe that is easily wearable but stands out in a crowd. The result is the “Wildcard” ZX 1000, a subtle take on the original silhouette with some hard-to-miss details. The new look begins with a soft mesh base layer in a light beige tone, framed by black overlays around the mudguard, lacing system, and heel. The quarter panel overlays feature a bright cheetah print pattern, while the midfoot Three Stripes come in an icy orange tone for a flash of color. pam pam branding is repeated across the laces, also appearing on the tongue badge and heels to complete the look.

adidas next entry in the ongoing A-ZX series continues later this month, on November 27th, 2020, with the release of the “Wildcard” ZX 1000 from London’s pam pam. Featuring colorful accents and animal prints, this ZX 1000 will be available from adidas and select retailers, with a retail price of just $130.
