As the 30th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall approaches, adidas unveils a new ZX 8000 Pack. Dubbed as the “No Walls Needed” collection, Overkill and adidas look to celebrate the historic moment with their latest pack.
Overkill’s collaborative catalog with adidas is nothing less than special. With several models under their belt, the Germany-based brand presents yet another unique iteration. Placing emphasis onto the historic moment, Overkill brings forth a two-pair double-pack that acts as a metaphor to the city once divided. In celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the retailer will limit pairs to 1,989 referencing the year. In addition, Overkill will also give in-store customers €100 EUR of “welcome money”. This acts as offer by the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) to visitors from the German Democratic Republic (East Germany).
Although a common theme is presented, each model dons a different colorway and respective symbols that embody the historic moment. Placed onto their heels, each shoe dons a symbol that represents the theme of quality, individuality, freedom, and unity. In addition, each silhouette also presents a different color throughout its sole, Three Stripes, and mid panels to mix-and-match. While the collaboration presents a fun and colorful iteration, the message remains the same; to unite and remember the moment in time through sneakers.

The collaborative effort will have a pre-launch this upcoming November 2, 2019 through Overkill.
