Nike continues to roll out new iterations of the Space Hippie collection this year, rehashing the recycled footwear collection in new colorways. This week, we have an early look at the next Space Hippie 01, which arrives in “Anthracite” this month.
The Nike Space Hippie program exploded into the footwear world last Summer, making their debut as a traditional lifestyle sneaker release as opposed to the planned rollout in tandem with the Olympic Games. Constructed entirely from recycled and scrap materials, the Space Hippie project helped to launch Nike’s Move to Zero initiative, which aims to ue recycled and waste materials in some capacity throughout all of the brand’s products in the next few years. Now, the Space Hippie shoes are slowly continuing to release in new color schemes, like the “Anthracite” look seen here on the 01 model, coming soon. The new colorway mixes a black knit upper with volt green and silver 3M accents, while a dark green Crater Foam midsole completes the look.

Nike’s latest colorway of the Space Hippie 01 has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks. The stealthy “Anthracite” look will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers, retaining the usual price tag of $130. UPDATE 4/10/21: Nike’s “Anthracite” colorway of last year’s Space Hippie 01 model has been scheduled to release later this month, on April 23rd, 2021. The black & green iteration will was delayed due to global shipping holdups, but will be available from Nike and select retailers for $130.
