Nike’s Shox family of silhouettes are back this year for what appears to be a full retro push from the Swoosh. The next model to return will be the Ride 2, a sleek runner from the mid-2000s, dropping in a “Light Bone” colorway later this year.
Nike first flirted with bringing back their Shox line in 2018 and 2019, reviving select silhouettes to seemingly test the waters before diving in. Shox technology was first introduced in 2000, when Nike was experimenting with all kinds of new performance tech, of which the Air Presto is one of the surviving triumphs. This year, the Shox R4 has made a subtle return, which will be followed by the Ride 2 later this year.
The last time we saw a release of the Shox Ride 2 was in 2022, when Supreme released a four pair collection during their Summer season. Now, the model is poised to make a return later this year. One of the more subtle-looking Shox models, the Ride 2 features the spring technology in the just the heels, with Air bags providing cushioning in the forefoot. The first release is expected to be this “Light Bone” look, which covers the layered upper in the off-white tone, and uses bright orange accents for branding.

Nike’s revival of the mid-2000s Shox Ride 2 has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to release sometime late in 2024. Dressed in a “Light Bone” color with orange accents, pairs will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers for $180.
