Nike’s penchant for releasing retro models strikes again. This week, rumors of the 1984 tennis trainer, the Mac Attack, surfaced online, indicating the silhouette would return sometime in 2023.

The Nike Mac Attack is coming back. Originally released in 1984 and famously worn by John McEnroe, the tennis trainer has never again seen a release from the Swoosh, though that is rumored to change next year, with the first-ever retro release of the model. However, the shoe has been publicly worn by some notable Nike-related public figures in recent years, including Lebron James and Travis Scott. Additionally, the Mac Attack’s signature toe box paneling was used on 2020’s N.354 Squash Type silhouette, prepping the sneaker world for the return of the stylish older model.
