The year of 2017 was a year of innovation for many sneaker brands. Nike took the time to refine and update their auto-lacing system from 2016, and is moving on to release the Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 Habanero Red later this week.
The Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 first appeared on the feet of Michael J. Fox during the 2015 celebration of the classic ‘Back to the Future’ movies. The auto-lacing technology inside the Hyperadapt was inspired by the Nike MAG, a concept shoe designed specially for ‘Back to the Future 2’. After a slow rollout of the Hyperadapt in 2017, Nike has announced that a whopping 7 colorways are planned to drop throughout the months of January and February, with the first coming later this week. The Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 ‘Habanero Red’ features a new deep red upper that receives a patterned knit construction, consisting of a black base with wavy red lines similar to that of a seismograph. A red dipped swoosh adorns the side, while the toe cap is protected by an extra red overlay. The black heel cap, black tongue, and white midsole are all standard features on the Hyperadapt, as well as the lights on the heel and midfoot arch to indicate power and battery level.
