The Nike Panda Dunk has permeated every corner of the sneaker world since its release in 2020, and some people have gotten tired of it. Luckily, Nike has a response, with their “Red Panda” edition coming this Summer.
Nike’s Panda Dunk Low has been one of the defining sneakers of the 2020s so far. The simple black & white colorway first arrived in 2020, and was a hit among sneakerheads and casual fans alike. The Swoosh responded to its popularity by making it their staple dunk release, with new pairs hitting shelves every season for the next few years. The shoe became a meme, and can be found on someone’s feet in pretty much any crowd you find yourself in. Now, Nike is preparing a new spin on the fan-favorite look.
The next panda-inspired release of the Dunk Low is inspired by the Red Panda, a small mammal native to the Himalayas and China with rusty red fur, black underbellies, and white facial markings. The cute and cuddly little guys are Nike’s response to the OG panda look becoming a meme, and features a few fun details nodding to this. The new look features a Dark Team Red leather base layer, with overlays in a Solar Red patent leather. Black inner linings and tongues add some negative space to the design, with a white sole to complete the look.
