Nike’s technology-merging Air Max 270 React was a commercial hit in 2019, from sneakerheads to every day wear. Now, the brand has unveiled the next step for the franchise, launching in 2020.
Nike’s lifestyle silhouettes from 2019 have been a hit, with the hybrid Air Max 270 React leading the charge. Originally meant to show off how Nike’s different midsole technologies worked well alongside each other, the AM270R has taken on second life, thanks to a surge in popularity amongst non-sneakerheads. Now, the Swoosh is gearing up to bring the 270 into 2020 with a brand new look.
The first appearance of the Air Max 270 React on the internet was just last week, in the form of Travis Scott’s limited edition colorway. While many thought this would be a wild new look for the AM270R, it was, in fact, just the upcoming version. The new look makes some big changes to the silhouette, which featured either a loose knit or translucent TPU base layer, depending on the colorway. Now, the upper appears to be constructed from an adaptive, neoprene-like material that is locked in place with a system stiff curving overlays, similar to that of the legendary Air Max 360. The 2020 270 also features more padding along the ankle and collar of the shoe.

Nike’s next iteration of tbe Air Max 270 React that launched earlier this year is scheduled to make its debut in the coming weeks in January, 2020. The new silhouette will likely retain the same $150 retail price, and launch from both Nike and select retailers.
