Nike’s new Air Max Pre-Day sneaker continues to arrive in new color schemes after its debut for Air Max Day in March. This week, we have an early look at a new color scheme, dressing the modern classic in a palette of earth tones.
The history of the Nike Air Max Pre-Day begins in the 1970s, at the peak of Nike’s jogging shoe days. The timeless style of that era would inform countless sneakers for decades to come, of which the Pre-Day is the latest to join the family. However, the Pre-Day also introduces plenty of new innovations that separate it from the rest of the pack. Namely, the Pre-Day is the first shoe to fully expose its underfoot Air bag cushioning, providing more comfort for the wearer due to a decrease in materials between foot and Air. Today, we have another early look at an upcoming color scheme for the AM Pre-Day, this time covering the shoe in Earth-inspired shades of brown, blue, and gold. The look begins with a dusty shade of blue for the nylon base layer, while brown suede overlays adorn the fore- and mid-sections of the shoe. The inner lining shows off a faded gold color, which can also be found on the heels’ Nike branding.

Nike’s latest colorways of the new Air Max Pre-Day sneaker have not yet been announced for release, though they are likely to land on retail shelves sometime in the coming weeks. The mix of brown, blue, and yellow will be available from Nike and select retailers, with a price tag of $130. UPDATE 9/3/21: The upcoming earth-tone colorway of the Nike Air Max Pre-Day has been scheduled to release later this week, on September 9th, 2021. The blue and brown color scheme will come with a price tag of $140, releasing from both Nike and select retailers.
