Since its conception in 1987, the Air Max lineage has continuously developed Air cushion technology like few had ever seen before. Fast forward to 2019 and Nike has given birth to yet another descendant: the Air Max 720, including this new Metallic Silver colorway.
Nike’s innovative Air Unit has been replicated many times throughout several of their Air Max sneakers. They have taken it one step further by making the Air Max 720’s Air unit the biggest, most visible, to date. Much like its predecessors, this silhouette boasts its revolutionary visible Air unit throughout, adding levels of comfort and style seamlessly. But with 38mm of Air unit, the sneaker triumphs over all previous Air units by focusing on comfortability and performance. Its futuristic design is also a representation of both Nike’s future, and the culture it adheres to: more than 75% of its Air unit is composed of recycled material. Nike has set out to create a more sustainable future while simultaneously bringing forth innovative designs.
While very few colorways of the Air Max 720 have released due its infancy, Nike has given the sneaker its “Metallic Silver” treatment. A grey monochromatic color scheme creates a subtle aesthetic that contrasts the bold and futuristic design of the silhouette. A gradient effect of black, white, and gray helps the upper’s segments separate from one another, while blending effortlessly.
