Nike’s Air Max 1 remains one of their most iconic silhouettes, since its debut in the 1980s. This season, a new quilted edition has appeared in a striking “Gym Red” color scheme, expected in Spring 2025.
The Air Max 1 has been an undeniable piece of Nike history since the shoe’s introduction in 1986. The first sneaker to feature their visible Air bubbles, the running shoe spawned the entire extended Air Max family, but remains an essential piece of the Swoosh’s catalog to this day.
This week has brought us an early look at an interesting new take on the AM1, currently expected to release in early 2025, likely around Valentine’s day. This pair features a new striped quilting stitch for the upper’s mesh base layer, giving it an insect-like look. The shoe shoe comes in mixed shades of red, using both Gym and University varieties as well as a Light Crimson shade.

Nike’s latest colorway of their Air Max 1 Quilted edition does not have a set release date yet, but is expected to arrive sometime in Spring 2025. The “Gym Red” style, with glossy leather panels, will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $140.
