Nike has a long list of new colors for their Air Max 1 lined up for the rest of the year. The iconic ’80s running shoe has been on a hot streak of releases since its grand return in 2020, and this week the Swoosh has showed off a large collection of styles for the remainder of the year.
Nike’s Air Max 1 changed the world of running shoes when it originally launched in 1986. While the brand’s Air bag technology had been around since the late ’70s, the AM1 was the first shoe to actually show you the inflated cushioning bags under your feet. The model’s comfort and style helped catapult it into the stuff of legends, and remains an iconic piece of sneaker culture to this day. While Air Max 1 releases were largely held close to the chest throughout the ’10s, in 2020 Nike went all out with the model, releasing dozens of new and old colorways over the next four years.
This week, we’ve seen a large wave of new colors for the AM1 dropping throughout the rest of 2024. Amongst a handful of neutral styles, a few colorful pairs have made their way into the release calendar, like this “Glacier Blue” edition with some slight material tweaks. The pair features a light grey mesh base for the upper, with matching midfoot panels in perforated leather. The light blue shade makes up the suede mudguards and Swooshes, while white and dark grey complete the rest of the palette.

Nike’s upcoming “Glacier Blue” colorway of the Air Max 1 has not been scheduled to release yet, though they will arrive sometime later in 2024. Cast in grey and light blue with perforated leather layers, pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for $140.
